Location terms

Effective date: 21 October 2026

Purpose

Road Passport uses the car's location for one thing: finding out which region the car is in, so that region can be stamped and the distance you drive there can be counted. A region is stamped after you drive about 2 km inside it, or when you park there.

Location is processed in the car. Only the region, the day, the distance and the driving time are stored. Raw coordinates are never stored and never leave the car. Location is not used for ads, profiling or navigation, and it is not shared. See the privacy policy for details.

Road Passport reads your car's make, model, model year and powertrain type (via the Android Automotive CAR_INFO permission) only to display them on the in-app passport identity page. This information stays in the car and is never stored elsewhere or transmitted. The passport number shown in the app is generated randomly on the car and is not linked to you, the vehicle or any account. The VIN, the licence plate, the odometer and your location are not used on the identity page.

No screen while driving

Road Passport works in the background and asks nothing of you while you drive. The passport book and the map open only when the car is parked. While the app collects stamps, the system shows a small ongoing notification. New stamps are shown when you park.

Accuracy

Stamps are a personal travel record. Do not rely on them as proof of travel or for navigation.
